April 24th is a day that has deep meaning for me.
It also does for the entire Armenian community across the world, spread and torn by the tragedies of genocide 96 years ago.
I take a moment today to write about the Armenians who lost their lives, their families, their hopes. As we think of our path, our goals and our achievements, theirs were taken away from them.
The atrocities of history will always remain etched on my heart in memory of all those who would never see another sunrise and in honour of all those who were able to get back up on their feet and live the best life they possibly could.
I hope, one day, to visit my homeland and the Dzidzernagapert monument to say a prayer for peace. May our eyes never see such tragedy again.
