Stressed out? Take out your Journal…

With daily routines that barely include time to breathe, news about a crashing economy, worries about our children, their health, their future, concerns about our own well-being, is it surprising that burn-out rates have reached epidemic proportions in North-America? Society, both individuals and organizations, are fueling the problem constantly. There is need for change.

Bill Clinton – “Sometimes when people are under stress, they hate to think, and it’s the time when they most need to think.”

Is stress one of your major energy drainers? Imagine you are holding a bucket. You keep filling it but it never fills… why? because it has holes. Each hole is a source of stress. Each hole is draining your precious energy. Can you identify the holes? What are the various sources of your stress?

Take out your Journal and make a list of all the holes that are letting the energy drip out of your bucket. Think.

Why do these holes exist in your life? Which part(s) of your life are affected by these holes? Think and write.

Do you think that changing your direction may eliminate some of the holes (or maybe all of them)? Would this new direction feel like it is more aligned with your purpose and life dream? Think and write.

If you were to take on concrete step today to start changing your direction, what step would that be? Think of the opportunity.

Take a deep breath and know that from thinking and writing as a start, you CAN move on to making the changes you need to make in your life. You CAN have a stress-free bucket full of energy!
