If I can do it, so can you!
I just changed my About Me page content. I thought if I am to inspire my readers to take action, I have to tell them a bit more about how I have done it myself. Those who have known me for a long time (many of them my readers now!) will vouch for the fact that I have been through A LOT, but best of all, I have grown through each experience. I am who I am today thanks to, what I used to call, my life struggles.
I have always reacted to something that caused me grief. From my mother’s controlling personality (bless her, she is amazing), to trying to break free from the traditional woman’s role, to failures in early romances and an even bigger failure in marriage, to becoming a parent and realizing that my career had to take a back seat to motherhood, all these complaints in my life (and there is much more to this than my short list!) have made me react to make things better.
What is best about my adventure is that I learned to view struggles differently. They are amazing challenges pushing us to learn and grow. Semantics alone may be behind this incredible switch in attitude, regardless, I think it is a very important concept to understand in order to react more productively and change things for the better.
I will ask one thing of you today. Take your journal and enumerate at least one current struggle in your life. How can you view this difficulty as an opportunity to grow? How will this become a challenge for you to be proud of working on and completing with success? How much better will you and your situation be once you have achieved your goal?
It is all about the journey being more important and wonderful than the destination it will eventually lead to!
