Cut Your Fear Down to Bite Size!

This is a follow-up to yesterday’s post about tackling the bleeding leg versus the bruise.

Are you afraid and overwhelmed by a big ToDo? Break it down to bite size and see how easy it is to chew small fear bits!

The best way to start is to write down the big ToDo. Then itemize each step that needs to be taken to reach your goal. Now without thinking of the fear you had about the bigger objective, next to each smaller item, write down any fears you may have about reaching each milestone. If you have any fears about any of the items, take a separate sheet of paper and write the Pros and Cons of actually fulfilling that goal and see if it is worth stopping yourself out of fear, or if it is better to face your fear and tackle the task.

Once you have all the little steps written down and you have figured out all the little fears you wil have to face one by one, set a timeline for each. Give yourself reasonable time to work at each one of them and celebrate when you complete an item. This will motivate you to keep on going and soon you will have reached your ultimate goal!!
