Asking questions to set your goals

Many of my readers know me as a big advocate of goal setting. Big or small goals are the starting point to creating a set of milestones, steps and baby steps to march towards the completion of the objective. Moving strategically towards the desired goal offers structure, direction and motivation for me to continue making the efforts and working hard to achieve Success and Happiness.

Questions, as part of the self-discovery process, can be used in goal setting too.

  • What will make me happy?
  • What should be my goal?
  • What am I really passionate about?
  • What are my values?
  • What do I really need to keep as part of my life and lifestyle to be happy?
  • What are the elements of my life that I am unhappy with that I need to change through my goal?
  • What steps do I need to take to reach my goal?
  • Do I have all the pieces of the puzzle to make my goal a reality?
  • What kind of support will I need to reach my goal?
  • How much time do I need or will I give myself to make my dream come true?

These are all questions to identify the goal and start working strategically in the development of the plan of action. I like asking myself these questions to start on my Journey and re-evaluating by asking more questions as I advance on my plan.

This works much better for me than when I used to try things here and there, hoping that I would find Happiness with the latest project I tried. By discovering more of what I was made of, what I valued, what I needed for myself and my family, what gets me passionate and excited about my work, I fine-tuned my project to what suited me more. The questions helped me narrow it down well enough to find what I was looking for. More questions helped me find the support I needed to make it come true, one step at a time.

Are you ready to set your goals for Happiness? Are there questions that you want to ask yourself to find your inner smile of contentment? Take out your Journal and start working on this project for yourself. This may be the start of an amazing adventure for you! It was for me!
